About

RightStoryGroup is a collective of experienced communicators who know how to use words and images to help organizations tell the right story about themselves, their ideas, their products and their services.

The Group was founded on the battle-tested principle that effective communication requires focus and clarity and that reputations are built on key stakeholders' general perceptions – and not the nitty gritty details that only a wonk could love.  In our world, key messages are not five pages long. Talking points are bullet points – not meandering paragraphs.  And communications are designed to be relevant to the audiences we need to sway.

Our primary focus is on two key pillars of communication:

  • Crisis communications.  Defending companies in the cross-hairs through traditional and social media, and reassuring stakeholders directly and indirectly.
  • Communications training.  Turning clients into ambassadors for their organizations by helping them shape their unique stories to impress and engage stakeholders.
When you’re communicating with an important audience, it’s critical to get to the point swiftly. Mark Twain supposedly said, “I didn’t have time to write you a short letter, so I wrote you a long one instead.”  RightStoryGroup takes the time to help clients focus and deliver their thoughts so their meaning is not lost and their impact is maximized.

Meet some of the consultants who help to make that happen:

Jim Martinez, Managing Consultant
RightStoryGroup was founded by Jim Martinez, a hands-on communicator who has spent years
    crafting word
s into clear stories that inform and motivate. His singular focus is to help clients
precisely and clearly tell the

their reputations in challenging times and promote their products and services to new customers.

Jim’s approach to communications is shaped by years as a working journalist, including a decade at the Chicago Sun Times, where he managed the city’s largest news staff.  He went on to work at   several leading public relations firms, including Ogilvy, Hill & Knowlton, GCI Group and Cohn & Wolfe, where he became the senior North American crisis counselor and media trainer.
